Fried Chicken Wrapped by Toey Leaf
  • 600 g. chicken , cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whiskey
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • 30-35 toey leaves
  • oil for deep-frying
  1. Pound garlic and blend with pepper.
  2. mix 1. with chicken, add soy sauce, whiskey, sesame oil, and sugar. Let stand for 1 hour.
  3. Wrap chicken with toey leaf.
  4. Deep-fry over meduim heat temperature until cooked. Drain on colander.
  5. Serve warm with sauce.

       sauce

  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons black soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons white saseme, dry-roasted
  1. In a pot, boil sugar and water, allow to cool.
  2. Add black soy sauce, syrup, salt, and white saseme. Stir to mix well.
